How to size a Bund strap for your watch.
The watch reference, lug width, wrist measurement and pad size you need to discuss a Bund strap that fits.
Identify the exact watch
Use the model reference from the watch or its paperwork. Watches with similar names can have different cases and attachments. Keep the manufacturer’s dimensions to hand if you have them.
Check the width between the lugs
Lug width is the distance between the inside faces of the lugs where the strap attaches. Use the specification for your exact watch, or measure the attachment width of a strap that fits it correctly.

Measure your wrist
Wrap a flexible tape around the wrist where you wear the watch. Keep it flat without pulling it tight. Record the circumference and the unit. A strip of paper also works: mark the overlap, then measure that length against a ruler.
If your current strap fits well, note the hole you use and whether you like where the buckle sits. If it is too long or too short, say so. This is useful alongside the wrist measurement.
Choose the pad separately
The pad is the wider leather section beneath the watch. Its width determines how much leather shows beside the case. Its length determines how far it extends along the wrist. Neither measurement is the same as lug width.
Choose a photographed example for the shape you like. The actual dimensions need to be worked out for your watch; you do not need to guess them from the picture.
What to include in your request
Send the measurements you know. Leave an unknown size open for discussion rather than guessing.
- Exact watch model or reference.
- Lug width, if confirmed.
- Wrist circumference, with the measurement unit.
- Any fit problem with your current strap.
- A link to the Bund example you want to discuss.
