Choosing stitching for a Bund strap.
Compare the pale stitching on a cognac Bund with the closer colour match on a dark-brown version.
Contrast stitching
The cognac Bund has pale stitching that stands out against the brown leather. It makes the edge of the pad and the strap ends clearly visible. Choose contrast stitching when you want the thread to be an obvious part of the design.
The contrast comes from the combination. A light thread will be more visible against dark leather than against a leather of a similar colour. Choose the thread together with the leather.
Stitching closer to the leather colour
On the dark-brown Bund, the brown thread is closer in colour to the leather. The stitches are visible, but there is less contrast than on the cognac version. Choose this approach if you prefer the leather colour to be the main detail.
What to ask for
You can describe the choice simply: pale contrast stitching, brown stitching on brown leather, or a thread as close to the leather colour as possible. A link to one of these examples makes the preference clear.
